米国人女性に「幸せか？」「今の自分に満足しているか？」という質問をすると、ほとんど必ず「はい」という答えが返ってくる。しかし、これは本音ではない。そう答えなくてはいけない空気がこの国にはあるのだ。

　万が一「不幸です」「自分のここが嫌です」とでも答えれば、その次には「では、その問題を解決するためにどんな対策を取っていますか」という質問が控えている。
